Changing Engine Oil of Motorcycle

A very important, but often neglected part of servicing your bike is changing the engine oil. It’s a very simple process, which you can do on your own and which should be done every three months or every 5,000 Kilometers(KM).

1st Step

Make sure the bike is on the main stand. Keep a pan below and open the drain nut located under the crank case. Unscrew the dipstick to avoid air lock.

2nd Step
Let all the oil drain out into the pan. Tilt the bike towards the end of the draining process so that every last drop oozes out.

3rd Step

Re-attach the drain nut and make sure it is closed tight. Then take out the engine oil dipstick.

4th Step
Keep the new engine oil ready. Put in as much oil as is recommended by the manufacturer

5th Step
Pour in the new engine oil.

6th Step
Run the bike for a few minutes and then using the dipstick check if theengine oil is at the desired level - a little past the half way mark towards full.
